Which primers and dry mixtures are used for thermal insulation of facades

In our country, 90 percent of the housing stock is physically and morally obsolete and is very worn out, and there is no opportunity to provide all who want affordable and high-quality modern housing. Thus, the task of reliable insulation of existing buildings becomes the most important in order to minimize heat losses from old constructions and, accordingly, reduce heating costs for people living in these homes.
Which primers and dry mixtures are used for thermal insulation of facades.Most large manufacturers of heat-insulating materials and building mixtures offer effective insulation systems for building facades. The most popular and relatively simple and inexpensive way to heat a building is the “wet facade” method, which we talked about in the previous article, where the system of facade insulation of TM BauGut was considered.

In a nutshell, the method of insulation of the type “wet facade” – these are heat insulation boards (expanded polystyrene or mineral wool), which attach to the walls with special glue and dowels. The outer layer of a fixed heater is initially protected by a plaster-adhesive composition reinforced with a special glass netting, after which a decorative coating is applied.

For the sake of justice, we note that among the numerous thermal insulation systems that are represented in the market of our country, the system of facade insulation TM BauGut advantageously differs in that it is one of the few systems in Ukraine that received expert confirmation of fire safety, based on real fire tests.

In addition, it is environmentally safe, resistant to biodegradation, has a minimum moisture absorption, low vapor permeability and a high degree of heat conservation, at optimal thickness.

We considered the general structure of the “pie” that forms during the installation of the system of facade insulation of TM BauGut in the previous material. Today, let’s consider in more detail some of the components of this system, in particular, the primer and thermal insulation mixtures that are part of the facade insulation.

Deep penetrating primer BauGut HTG
Which primers and dry mixtures are used for thermal insulation of facades

The BauGut HTG Primer is designed to create a contact adhesive layer with a uniform water absorption between the mineral base and the finishing material (glue, putty, plaster, self-leveling floor, etc.), as well as before applying water-dispersion and organic paints to reduce their costs.

The primer consists of: polymer dispersion and various modifying additives, which, as a result, ensure its consumption, in the volume of 0.2 l / m2, with a single-layer coating and a density of 1 kg / m3

However, in order to maximize the properties of the BauGut HTG primer, the surface to which it is applied should be thoroughly prepared, according to SNiP 3.04.01-87 and DBN B.2.6-22-2001, i.e .:

remove foamy areas of the base, break the cracks, clean the surface from dirt, dust, oil, paint and the like;
ground areas that are affected by biological corrosion, removed and treated with antiseptic primer;
to repair the basis observing the technologies of performance of work and instructions on the application of dry building mixtures TM BauGut.
Glue for thermal insulation BauGut KLT

Glue BauGut KLT is intended for gluing of plates from expanded polystyrene, including extruded, on a socle and mineral wool in and out of buildings.

The composition of the adhesive includes: cement, fractionated fillers and modifying additives, which ensure the consumption of the mixture in a volume of 4-6 kg / m2.

Before applying the glue BauGut KLT, also, the surface should be prepared in accordance with SNiP 3.04.01-87, DBN B.2.6-22-2001), i.e .:

remove rigid parts of the surface, crack the cracks, clean the surface from dirt, dust, oil, paint, etc .;
fragile areas that can not be removed, and strongly absorbent surfaces first to be treated with a primer of BauGut TFG and withstand no less than 4 hours, and then treated with a primer BauGut HTG;
cement-sand, cement-lime and brick surfaces that are ready to be finished, treated with a BauGut HTG primer with a brush or roller and withstand no less than 4 hours;
smooth concrete and highly porous (gas and foam concrete) surfaces to improve the adhesion to clean with a metal brush, to apply a primer of BauGut GDF and to stand for at least 4-6 hours;
The surface ready for sticking the insulation must be durable, clean, even (the difference is not more than 20 mm per 1 m) and the same for water absorption.
